Astrological Guidance

Astrology offers insights into your own personality and life influences that were set into motion when you were born. It reveals what lessons you learned in a previous life (or possibly what baggage you carry) and what your soul is meant to learn in this lifetime. It also shows you the planetary energies that are affecting you today and in the future.

Astrology does not predict the future, in my opinion. The future is dynamically recreated in each moment by the actions and choices you make, as well as from the actions and choices of those around you. Even though astrology can't predict events with specificity, it does show trends and areas to be aware of at certain times in your life. It creates awareness of the greater cosmic influences that are affecting you and others.Those influences ARE predictable based on the movement of the planets among the stars.

Natal (Birth) Chart Readings

. The time and location of your birth is the basis for the natal chart. When you are born, there are certain constellations present in the sky in the season of your birth. The relative position of the sun against the backdrop of constellations is what is conveyed by your ”sun sign”. This the only aspect of your natal chart that a newspaper horoscope looks at, and it is only a fraction of your astrological profile. That's why those newspaper horoscopes are generally not very accurate or only partially true.

A complete natal chart considers the placement of all of the planets (including the sun and the moon) in your chart. Based on the exact time of your birth, there are also "houses" that are charted: general areas such as "finances", "career", "partnerships", "communication", etc.  The placement of each of the planets within those houses, and even the angles they make with one another, form your unique astrological fingerprint, the natal chart.

Transit Chart Readings: Current Influences/Future Trends

Transits tell the rest of the story. Against the backdrop of your natal chart, the current and/or future positions of the planets are charted and compared to your natal planets. The comparison, the transit chart, shows how the current planetary movements are hitting your natal planets and houses. What might be an inconsequential influence of a certain transiting planet over one person's chart could have profound consequences for another because of the differences in their natal charts. 

If you already have your natal chart and want to look at transits at anytime, you can look up the current positions of the transiting planets in the 2019 Swiss Ephemeris. Compare them to your natal chart for important aspects (squares, trines, oppositions, conjunctions, etc.). For past and future years, see the index of ephemeris files.
