Current Class List and Registration Links
COVID-19 adjustments included shifting some classes online. However, not all classes work well with the online format. Currently, while we deal with pandemic conditions, I am focusing more on video coaching and online Tarot readings, so I don't have any classes scheduled. When classes resume, you can see all the classes that are currently being offered on my profile page on Eventbrite. Many classes can be taken “out of order”, but a few have recommended prerequisites. Read more below.
Registration
Pre-registration and ticket purchase through Eventbrite is required in advance for all classes due to limited space. Most classes offer an early bird discount, so buy tickets early! If you need to cancel, refund policy posted with each event will apply.
Class Location - ALL TEMPORARILY ONLINE
Currently classes are only being offered online. Under normal circumstances most classes are usually held in Renton at River Valley Cheese: A School of Curiosity, 826 S 3rd St, Renton, located on the corner of South 3rd and Wells Ave in downtown Renton. Parking is free on the street and in nearby public lots.
What to Bring
If you want to take notes, bring a notebook and a pen. Not all classes have handouts to write on. Wear comfortable clothing, and if regular chairs are not your favorite surface to sit on, bring a pillow or cushion to make yourself comfortable.
The Tarot Series
There are currently six classes offered for Tarot beginners. The first, Tarot Introductions, is very brief and geared for those who are curious about Tarot and/or considering buying a deck. The next three classes, Tarot Beginnings, Tarot Mysteries, and Tarot Insights, give you the fundamentals of starting to read Tarot for yourself. Tarot Designs requires some basic knowledge of the cards and how to read the connections between them, since you will be designing your own Tarot spreads. Tarot Transformations can be taken at any time, and focuses on how to use the Tarot for personal growth, even if you haven't learned the meanings of the cards yet.
Traditional decks based on the Rider-Waite version of the Tarot will most closely align with the course curriculum, but bring your favorite Tarot deck (or buy one at the shop) and we will work with it. Be sure your deck is NOT an oracle deck or Lenormand deck. They are not the same thing. I'm only aware of one Tarot deck that is so different that it would be almost impossible to follow along in class. If you have questions about if your Tarot deck is compatible with the course curriculum simply email to ask.

Tarot Beginnings: The Minor Arcana
This two hour course is a great beginner's class if you have always wanted to read Tarot but didn't know where to start. This class will teach you a system for reading the cards that minimizes raw memorization and leverages your intuition.
The class provides instruction in the Minor Arcana and the Court Cards, and touches on the Major Arcana:
The course focuses on the combinations of suits, numbers and face cards to help you learn the system to be able to read intuitively. We only briefly touch on the Major Arcana (best covered over time through individual study or an in-depth class devoted just to the Majors) but you will learn enough with what is presented and in your own Tarot deck documentation to be able to begin using the cards. Two basic reading layouts will be taught so you can start reading the cards right away for yourself and your friends.

Tarot Mysteries: The Major Arcana
This two hour course is often taken after the Tarot Beginnings class, although the two classes can be taken in either order. The 22 Major Arcana require self-study outside of what will be taught in this class, but this course introduces the traditional meanings of the cards, and several different ways you can connect with them over time.
The class approaches the Major Arcana through:
The course focuses on the traditional meanings of the Major Arcana in the upright position. It will very briefly touch on the concept of reversals, which can be extrapolated to all of the Tarot cards. The class will not specifically address the Minor Arcana or Court cards, though it is possible to begin reading with just the Majors. A simple two and three card reading will be taught so that you can begin to use the cards.

Tarot Insights: Connecting the Cards
The magic in reading Tarot is not in memorizing the meanings of the cards, but in accessing your intuition and being able to hear how the cards are talking to you, and to each other. This two-hour course will focus on:

If you have not yet completely learned the individual meanings of the cards, you’ll still have more to study before you begin reading the Tarot, but the principles learned in this class will provide an excellent foundation to help you become an intuitive reader. Recommended prerequisite is either Tarot Beginnings or Tarot Mysteries.

Tarot Transformations: Creating Change
This two hour course offers practical guidance on incorporating Tarot into your own path of personal growth. Tarot has evolved over time to become a spiritual practice in its own right. After several centuries, the symbols and metaphors of the Tarot have become embedded in the collective unconscious. Your brain reacts to those symbols the same as if they were reality. With the Tarot, you can leverage the power of your own subconscious to deepen your self-awareness, see connections and patterns in the influences surrounding you, design a new, positive direction for your life, and create real and lasting change.

Becoming a Better Dreamer
Dreams are a natural part of your brain activity. You dream every night, whether or not you remember your dreams when you awaken. Do you wish you could dream more? Better remember what you dreamed? Work through disturbing dream images? This class will cover setting dream intentions, enhancing your ability to remember your dreams, tips for deciphering the symbols and messages of the dream world, and an introduction to the concept of “lucid” dreaming.
