In addition to adhering to a specific Code of Ethics, I have adopted the following policies in my practice. By accepting my services, you agree to abide by these policies.
Reservations are available only for 30 minute and greater time slots. If two people wish to have back to back 15 minute individual sessions, an appointment can be made, but the sessions are billed for each person at the 15 minute rate. If one party does not show up, the other party is responsible for the full session booked, and will be billed at the full-session rate instead.
For appointment cancellations, 24 hour notice is required so I can free up the calendar for someone else. If an emergency arises and you cannot provide 24 hour notice, please let me know as soon as you can. If you reschedule your appointment once, the appointment is not considered canceled. No-shows or short notice cancellations are billed based on the time that was reserved even though no services were provided.
For classes, special events, or group workshops, refunds are available as stated within the event listing or contract. For prepaid individual sessions, refunds are available if canceled with 24 hour notice or more (see above). Refunds are not given for no-shows or late cancellations.
Observers at Individual Sessions
I do not allow observers in individual sessions, which are private to protect client confidentiality reasons. Also, working with an individual allows me to tune into and focus on them without distraction, and I can be more effective.
Consent for Minors and Others
For those who cannot provide legal consent, either by reason of age or their mental faculties, I will only provide services if their legal guardian is present at the time the session begins to provide guardian's consent directly to me. The session is still conducted privately without observers, and I maintain client confidentiality and will not share the content of the session with the guardian. If the guardian does not consent to that, I will not be able to see the client.
If the session is for a couple or a group (family, work team, etc.) each person in the group must freely consent to participate and share a common purpose or question. I also ask that members promise confidentiality to one another for what is shared in the session.
