Many academics, mystics, and practitioners have influenced my beliefs, values, and practices. My university studies included cultural anthropology, shamanism, religion, and psychology. My Master's degree work centered on personal transformation and leadership, which my experience reflects.
I believe we are all inextricably connected through systems that need to be understood in order to optimally function within them. We are part of many systems simultaneously: families, organizations, social groups , ecosystems, etc. When a change is made in one part or element of a system, it is felt by all, and the system changes to adapt. This can be seen in the "butterfly effect" of chaos theory, in which a small thing such as a butterfly flapping its wings can contribute to something much larger, such as a tornado. This is why changing yourself (whether your internal thoughts and beliefs or your external behaviors) is so powerful. Change yourself, and you change your world.
I am guided by my vision of a connected network of healthy, whole individuals (either within a family, a workplace, or another group) that realistically prepare themselves for the challenges they will encounter, then capably and courageously address them. I operate with a partnership model. I do not come as the expert or as the rescuer. Instead I build capacity and understanding, often by shining a light upon unnoticed strengths, weaknesses, or important relationships. I facilitate and nurture the emergence of your own innate knowing and ability, and share my own clarity, calm and confidence with you in a spirit of respect, support and service.
